NEWS AND VIEWS

We are always on the look out for innovative ways to engage with people and employers to build exciting employment and skills pathways

Here are just a few examples of the great initiatives that we are leading right now…

South Bristol Talent Pathways Project

The South Bristol Talent Pathway Project (SBTaPP) is engaging and supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in south Bristol to help them develop their workforce and grow their business.

The team are identifying SME key business priorities and linking them to business support services such as apprenticeships, help with recruitment and retention, and also skills training delivered by SBTaPP partners on the Workforce for the Future program.

In collaboration with Bristol Works  SMEs are also being supported to offer experiences of work to children and young people from local schools to give them the skills they need to secure meaningful employment and establish a ‘talent pipeline’ across South Bristol communities.

Building Bristol

Building Bristol is an exciting initiative that is supporting all major capital developments to create inclusive learning and career opportunities for local people of all ages.

The team is working with developers to create and deliver robust employment and skills plans, both at construction and end use phase, helping them build strong links across education, training and employment support providers.

Together we are creating many benefits: supporting people into jobs and training, promoting apprenticeships, encouraging work experience and providing careers information for young people.

We are also enabling contractors to demonstrate just how much they are contributing to local economic and social benefits – through their own work, and that of their supply chain.

Move In, Move On, Move Up

MIMOMU is a multi – agency package of support for rough sleepers in Bristol or those at risk of becoming a rough sleeper. Through a wraparound service, participants are given a place to stay and a plan to help them leave the streets – including access to legal, healthcare and benefits advice. MIMOMU supports individuals to:

  • move into permanent accommodation
  • integrate into the community
  • access to appropriate opportunities to increase employability skills (training, job shadowing, work experience)
  • move into employment.
